Lenovo Yoga Book review of nearly perfect digital notepad

What is Lenovo Yoga Book review? This device 2 in 1 with 360-degree mount, characteristic for laptops Lenovo Yoga. On the one hand this rod is attached 10-inch touch screen with a resolution of Full HD, and on the other … a huge touch panel with digitizer is compatible with the Wacom, performs the function of a large graphic tablet and replacing the keyboard. It sounds and looks weird, but it works surprisingly well.
Oh well, still a little too early for such statements, because of an hour – it is too small to fully test some device, but no equipment was noticed by us on, did not make such an impression on us being held in Berlin IFA 2016 exhibition.

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

Lenovo Yoga Book review is a tablet than a laptop, but if you open it, it looks like a small laptop with a keyboard, which removed the buttons. Yoga Book fairly light and thin (690 grams weight of the device and less than 10 mm thick, it is not much), and we like its magnesium, matte finish (yes, the housing of this device is magnesium, not plastic!).
We really did not like the lack of ports, which greatly limits the usefulness of this device: the headphone output, SD card slot, micro-HDMI port and a micro-USB port – it’s too little. This is supposedly a tablet, so you can not expect him too much, but one additional USB port Type C would be very useful. Well, that at least there is a standard card slot nano-SIM because every Yoga Book is equipped with LTE modem.

Keep Lenovo Yoga Book review in one hand is not as convenient as the new iPad Air, but it is better than a full-fledged laptop Yoga. In short, the first impression is quite positive.

WHAT CAN IT?

Technical specifications of this device is impressive. 4-core processor Atom x5-8550 (2,4 GHz), 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB hard drive, battery 8500 mAh – yes, it is a tablet, if someone were still any doubts. However, its performance in secondary matter, because the main thing – it’s a huge touchpad to place the keyboard, which is slightly shorter than the diagonal of the diagonal of the display. As we have said, it is the Wacom digitizer, which can draw an attached stylus. But what is perhaps even more important, in the pen tip can be replaced on the one in which there is a container with ink, and then on the “keyboard” of the Yoga Book, you can lay a sheet of paper or a notebook and start writing … and all lines appear not only paper, but also on the screen of the tablet. By doing this, you can feel like a bit of a hero sci-fi movie.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

However, the best part is that it really works. Initially, we wondered what would be the advantage of such a decision on what offers Microsoft’s tablet Surface. After drawing several lines, we had no doubt.

Firstly, in fact, there is no delay. Secondly, the smooth, but not slippery surface of this huge touchpad, touch the much more convenient than glass.
And the ability to write on the paper is a saving in terms of who would be easy to digitize their records, but does not like to write on glass pen. Especially because Lenovo Yoga Book review cope with the reading position of the stylus tip, even when the panel put a thick notebook.

This trick. Write so on Yoga Book can not be just an ordinary pen, you need a stylus with said tip, which is integrated in a small container with ink. And such containers are depleted. Included with the tablet you get three heads, and then they need to regularly buy. How much will they cost? Or whether they can be bought for a few months without any problems? Probably, a lot depends on the popularity of this decision and whether the future will decide whether to develop a successor to Lenovo, but now this issue can prevent spending money on this device.

Hold selected circular button at the top right of the “touchpad”, disables support for stylus and activates the backlight, indicating the boundaries of the touch pad buttons. This keyboard is definitely the weakest element of the device. It is possible to write something, supports multi-touch, so there are no problems with the introduction of complex characters, it even vibrates when you press the button, but it is clear that Yoga Book, certainly for handwritten notes, not to write long texts. And, in general, it is understandable, because you can not have everything. With grief Yoga can be set on the table in the “tent mode” (we always amused by the term coined by Lenovo) and take advantage of some small Bluetooth-keyboard.

WHAT THE LENOVO YOGA BOOK PRICE?

The Lenovo Yoga Book price is 500 euros for the version with Android and € 600 for the version with Windows (they differ only in the operating system). As for such an advanced tablet with the LTE-modem and a built-in 10-inch graphics tablet, not bad. In the version with Windows problematic may be a relatively small hard drive and 4GB of RAM – it is not enough for the people who want this device to draw in Photoshop. On the other hand, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSD would have raised the price of Yoga to a level that is difficult to accept, for tablet-based Atom … The next month it will be possible to see whether delivers longer use the same Lenovo Yoga Book review fun as the first few tens of minutes. We can not wait.
