ACTIVATING USB-DEBUGGING AND UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER

  1. On your Nexus device, go to Settings → About phone / tablet.
  2. There, find the section with the build number and tapa on it as long as the shows: “Now you are a developer.”

ANDROID 7.0 FIRMWARE ON YOUR DEVICE

First, you need to get yourself firmware files. At the time of writing the news they are not available for all devices (direct download link):
  • Nexus 6P (yet).
  • Nexus 5X (NRD90M).
  • Nexus 6 (No).
  • Nexus Player (NRD90M).
  • Google Pixel C (NRD90M).
  • Nexus 9 LTE (so far).
  • Nexus 9, Wi-Fi (NRD90M).
  • General Mobile 4G (yet).
The downloaded firmware file must be placed in a folder Platform tools, which is in the directory of android-SDK-windows with the necessary utilities (ADB, etc.) – mentioned earlier in the article.
