Garmin: 4-10 year olds have their wristband connected

Garmin, which is part of the champions on the field of activity sensors launches its fitness tracker Garmin Vivofit Android for 4 to 10 years.

According to the Gfk survey conducted in 16 countries, one in three people today would use an activity sensor in the world (26% in France). A quarter of teens would be concerned. But what about the children? Garmin provides part of the answer with its strap connected vivofit jr.

Available in different colors for less tonic, the vivofit jr. somewhat reminiscent in concept watch Leapband out there a few months. The purpose of the sealed wrist up to 50 m is to stimulate the physical activity of its user by offering small games of course inviting to move. Having intended to be worn 24/24, the new Garmin chart plotters junior says on its screen the date and time and an activity bar that progresses as the efforts of the day bear fruit.

The sensor (whose autonomy is unknown) calculates the number of course not daily but also analyzes the quality of sleep of the child. These data can be accessed through a parental control application to install on the smartphone parents. They can control the activity of their offspring, but Garmin has also set up a task scheduling system that children will perform and confirm (wash his teeth, making the bed …).

For now, the manufacturer of the fitness tracker Garmin Vivofit Android is not yet very prolix on this aspect of its sensor and it will be a test to see more clearly. It is known however that the vivofit jr. will soon be available at 99 €, a price that seems very high, especially if you have several darlings equip.
